The Commerce Bank Triple Crown of Cycling is recognized nationally and internationally as America’s most prestigious series of professional road races. It brings the pageantry of a world-class peloton to three Pennsylvania cities in a unique downtown format that exists nowhere else in North and South America. It attracts hundreds of the top professional and elite male and female cyclists from some 25 nations. It supports close to 1,000 amateur cyclists with ancillary events each year. And it has showcased the speed, strength and endurance of the sport to the roar of literally millions of people over the years.
The 2008 edition of the Commerce Bank Triple Crown of Cycling will kick off in Allentown on June 3, tear through Reading on June 5 and culminate in its grand finale in Philadelphia on June 8. All three Commerce Bank events are part of the UCI Elite Calendar and the USA Cycling Pro Tour Calendar.

CSC riders meet and greet the 4th, 5th & 6th graders at Bluford Elementary school during a Commerce Bank Triple Crown of Cycling assembly. Riders shared their professional cycling stories with students who shared their enthusiasm and team cheer posters with the team. Commerce Bank presented Bluford Elementary School with a $5000 check to be put toward future health and fitness programs.

The stage for round No. 1 is a new-for-2008 course that traces a rectangular path from downtown Allentown, across the Lehigh River, and up the scenic and rolling Lehigh Parkway before returning downtown via West Hamilton Street. While by no means a climber’s course, this 7.1-mile circuit will test riders with a steady stream of punchy, leg-sapping rollers. CALLING ALL JUNIOR RIDERS: QUALIFYING EVENTS SET FOR JUNIOR PCT AT COMMERCE BANK PHILADELPHIA CHAMPIONSHIP IN JUNE
PHILADELPHIA (March 28, 2008) – Aspiring junior cyclists will have a chance to race in the bright spotlight of North America’s biggest one-day professional bicycle race during the 24th running of the Commerce Bank Philadelphia International Championship on June 8, 2008.The Junior PCT, a points race for qualifying junior cyclists age 18 and under, will highlight the region’s best young talent as they compete on a portion of the same Commerce course as the international pros.
The Junior PCT race will include up to 28 junior cyclists, ages 15 to 18, with the top seven riders selected from the Junior PCT Qualifier category of each of the four events listed below.
The event will take place after the finish of the women’s race (Commerce Bank Liberty Classic) and approximately on lap six of the men’s event while the pros are out on the course.There will be a mandatory rider check-in at 22nd Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on the day of the race, Sunday, June 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
