PHILADELPHIA, PA (June 4, 2009) Philadelphia-based Advanced Sports, Inc. (ASI) owns four bicycles brands. Of those brands, Fuji & Kestrel bikes will be ridden by a total of five professional teams competing at the 25th Annual TD Bank Philadelphia International Pro Cycling Championships. On the men’s side, Spanish-based team Fuji-Servetto and Austria-based team Elk Haus will be aboard Fuji race bikes. Two women’s teams will also ride Fujis including Germany’s Equipe Nurnberger and New Zealand-based Jazz Apple. U.S.-based men’s team Rock Racing will be aboard ASI’s Kestrel brand bicycles.

“Truly it’s a thrill to be so heavily represented at our home town race,” said Karen Bliss, ASI’s Director of Marketing and former racing pro and competitor of the event. “We’re proud to be so involved with such a great Philadelphia tradition. Hopefully, we’ll be celebrating multiple podium finishes on Sunday.”

The company is using the race weekend as a backdrop to host their annual international distributor meetings. Over 150 guests of the company will descend on Philadelphia for the event.

“It’s an opportunity to showcase to our global partners what we do, what the U.S. cycling scene is all about,” says ASI President, Pat Cunnane. “In addition, it was an opportunity for us to help promote Philadelphia as a tourist destination.”

ASI’s activities culminate with a private party of nearly 300 guests taking place atop the infamous Manayunk Wall, where passers-by will have the opportunity to score free t-shirts and swag from the company.

Both Pat Cunnane and Karen Bliss are available for interview either on location in Manayunk or other locations upon request.
