ASTRAZENECA WELLNESS CHALLENGE -- Ride the course before the pros!

Join us for the 2010 AstraZeneca Wellness Challenge (formerly Philly Fun Ride) and get your own up close and personal experience riding the 14-mile pro race course including the legendary Manayunk Wall. Get your own up close and personal experience of riding on fully closed streets passing the thousands of spectators lining the streets up to cheer on the riders. All entrants will receive an official AstraZeneca Wellness Challenge t-shirt and be treated to post-ride refreshments for all participants. Event Info
Overview
The AstraZeneca Wellness Challenge is open to recreational riders older than 12 and of all abilities and follows the actual TD Bank Philadelphia International Cycling Championship race course on which the pros compete. The course is 14 miles long and includes the climb up the Manayunk Wall. The AstraZeneca Wellness Challenge main staging area and start/finish point is located at Kelly Drive and Sedgely just below the Philadelphia Art Museum. Post-ride there will be refreshments for all participants.
Sweep wagons will depart at 8:30 to pick up any riders still on the course and transport them to the reception area. The reception area will be decorated in such a manner as to highlight Lockheed Martin’s involvement.
Registration & Race Packet Pick-Up
The field is limited to 2,000 riders. The entry fee is $45 per person for all entries registered on BikeReg.com until June 5, 2010 at 3.00pm and $55 for those registering the morning of the AstraZeneca Wellness Challenge (space permitting). Packets including your race number and your official AstraZeneca Wellness Challenge t-shirt can be picked up at the Philadelphia Cycling, Health and Fitness Show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center (1101 Arch Street, Philadelphia) on Friday and Saturday during show hours (Fri 10am to 8pm, Sat 10am to 6pm). Anyone unable to pick up their packet at the show may pick it up on race morning prior to the start at the Registration Tent at Kelly Drive and Sedgely.
Day of registration begins at 6:00am until 7:00am at the Registration Tent located at the main staging area at Kelly Drive and Sedgely.
Day of Registration begins at 6:15 AM and the Ride starts promptly at 7:30 AM on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at the intersection of 22nd Street & The Ben Franklin Parkway. All riders will receive a free event t-shirt, and will have exclusive autograph access to members of the PA Lightning Cycling Team.
Start Time / Road Time
The AstraZeneca Wellness Challenge starts promptly at 7:15am on Sunday, June 6, 2010. The roads remain open for the ride until 8:45am when all streets will be cleared for the start of the pro race.
Prizes
All riders who register online through BikeReg.com will be entered into a drawing to win a high-end bicycle provided by Fuji Bicycles. All registered riders will receive an official AstraZeneca Wellness Challenge t-shirt.
Safety Regulations
All riders are required to wear helmets and ride appropriately functioning bicycles.
