“Fuji Women is proud to be associated with the Miji Reoch Award and support cycling’s upcoming female stars,” says Bliss. “As a Philadelphia-based company, we’re thrilled to be apart of the Commerce Bank Liberty Classic and International Cycling Championships – two of the great American cycling events, right in our back yard.”
U.S. Bicycling Hall of Famer, Mary Jane “Miji” Reoch, was an eleven-time National Champion, nine-time World Championship Team member, and Silver Medalist at the 1975 World Pursuit Championships. When she retired from competition, Miji became an active coach and mentor of women’s racing teams, which she did for over 15 years. In September of 1993, Reoch was tragically killed while on a training ride with a client.
Former Miji Reoch Award recipients include Nicole Reinhart, Lauren Franges and Erica Allar.
The winner of the Miji Reoch Award receives a $1000 prize.
