REGISTER TO RIDE THE AMATEUR TIME TRIALS

Philadelphia Insurance Companies will serve as the title sponsor of the 2010 Amateur Time Trials on Saturday, June 5. The trials help kick off an exciting weekend that draws more than 350,000 thousand people for the TD Bank Philadelphia International Cycling Championship, organized by Pro Cycling Tour.

The Amateur Time Trials presented by Philadelphia Insurance Companies is another opportunity for cyclists of all skill levels to get on their bikes and become a part of the TD Bank bike race weekend.  From recreational riders to serious amateur racers, participants will be professionally timed against the clock and competing for top spots as well as cash prizes.  While the event is open to riders of all skill levels, it is also the PA Junior State Time Trial Championship and a qualifier for the 2010 Junior PCT Grand Prix which will occur on Sunday, June 6 at 11:45 a.m. right at the pro’s start/finish line on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

“This spectacular event helps showcase talented cyclists in our local community every year,” said Jamie Maguire, Chairman and CEO of Philadelphia Insurance Companies.  “Many of the participants and spectators who are a part of this race also join us for the Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon in Philadelphia three weeks later.”

The Time Trial’s out-and-back, eight-mile course runs from the Art Museum along

West River Drive
and includes categories for virtually all age groups, from 10-year-olds to senior citizens.  Prize money up to $200 and/or medals will be awarded to the top finishers in each category. The first riders will hit the street at 7 a.m. with additional groups going off at 30-second intervals.

All riders must register online by Wednesday, June 2 to participate (no day-of registration for this event).  Registration fees are $25 for adults and $10 for juniors, ages 10-16.  Visit www.procyclingtour.com for more information or click here to register.
