PHILADELPHIA – May 28, 2008 -- On Sunday, June 8, more than 300 of the world's top men and women professional cyclists will descend on the streets of Philadelphia to compete in the Commerce Bank Philadelphia International Championship and Liberty Classic. For the 24th consecutive year, the world’s eyes will be on Philly as these riders take part in what is the longest-running -- and largest -- single-day, pro cycling event in North America.

Back in January, at the official unveiling of the 2008 Slipstream-Chipotle team in Boulder, Colorado, Jonathan Vaughters made a profound request. The former pro racer turned team general manager asked fans and the media to remember that cycling is a hard sport. He asked them to understand that to fail is human. And most importantly he asked them to look beyond the traditional metrics of success, and judge his Slipstream team by a different set of criteria.

Team High Road comes to Philadelphia with big ambitions and the winners of both the men and the women’s 2007 Commerce Bank Triple Crown series. Bernhard Eisel and Ina-Yoko Teutenberg won five of the six races on offer last year and come prepared to defend their titles..

PHILADELPHIA – May 13, 2008 - Organizers of the Commerce Bank Triple Crown of Cycling have announced the 20 professional women’s teams that will contest a three-race battle in southeastern Pennsylvania in early June. At stake is a $34,000 prize purse that includes $5000 for the overall series winner.

Expect sprinters to make their mark

PHILADELPHIA – May 7, 2008 - Starting at 1 p.m. on June 3^rd, 25 of the world’s premier professional cycling teams will wage a 12-lap, 85-mile battle on the winding roads of Pennsylvania’s third largest city. At stake in this Allentown showdown is victory in the Lehigh Valley Classic, opening leg of the Commerce Bank Triple Crown of Cycling.

The stage for round No. 1 is a new-for-2008 course that traces a rectangular path from downtown Allentown, across the Lehigh River, and up the scenic and rolling Lehigh Parkway before returning downtown via West Hamilton Street. While by no means a climber’s course, this 7.1-mile circuit will test riders with a steady stream of punchy, leg-sapping rollers. But barring the unforeseen, the endgame will likely belong to the sprinters.
