Join us for the 2011 Wellness Challenge (formerly Philly Fun Ride) and feel the rush and excitement of the 14-mile historic race course of the TD Bank Philadelphia International Cycling Championship including the legendary Manayunk Wall. Get your own up close and personal experience of riding on fully closed streets passing the thousands of spectators lining the streets up to cheer on the riders. All entrants will receive an official Wellness Challenge t-shirt and be treated to post-ride refreshments for all participants. Don’t miss your chance to feel the rush of this historic course, all abilities are invited!
Event Info
Overview
The Wellness Challenge is open to recreational riders older than 12 and of all abilities and follows the actual TD Bank Philadelphia International Cycling Championship race course on which the pros compete. The course is 14 miles long and includes the climb up the Manayunk Wall. The Wellness Challenge main staging area and start/finish point is located at Kelly Drive and Sedgely just below the Philadelphia Art Museum. Post-ride there will be refreshments for all participants.
Registration & Race Packet Pick-Up
The field is limited to 2,000 riders. The entry fee is $45 per person for all entries registered on BikeReg.com until June 4, 2011 at 6.00pm and $55 for those registering the morning of the Wellness Challenge (space permitting). Participants may enter online.
Packets can be picked up on Saturday, June 4 from noon until 5pm at the official race hotel Sheraton Philadelphia City Center (17th & Race Streets, Philadelphia)
Packet pick-up on Sunday, June 5 is from 6:00am until 7:00am at the Registration Tent at Kelly Drive and Sedgely. All packets have to be picked up by 7:00am when registration/packet pick-up closes. Click for location map.
Packets include race number and the official Wellness Challenge t-shirt. All participants will also receive a goodie bag.
Start Time / Road Time
The Wellness Challenge starts promptly at 7:15am on Sunday, June 5, 2011. The roads remain open for the ride until 8:45am when all streets will be cleared for the start of the pro race.
Safety Regulations
All riders are required to wear helmets and ride appropriately functioning bicycles.
Prizes
All riders who register online through BikeReg.com will be entered into a
drawing to win the Fuji Newest 2.0 road bike, donated by our sponsor Fuji. All registered
riders will receive an official Wellness Challenge t-shirt.
